This year, Kiko turn 20, so to mark the occasion they’ve teamed up with Vogue Italia to create a series of seven gorgeous collaborations with various fashion talents, the first of which is the Less is Better collection with SuperDuper Handmade Hats, which is one of the most perfect collections I’ve seen in a while…although I always find myself saying something along those lines when it comes to Kiko!
As you might’ve guessed, the Less is Better collection contains products that are mostly aimed at enhancing and adding a little bit of neutral colour and light, so everything is very nude with not a bright in sight. I could not love this collection more, from the colours to the packaging to the products themselves, they are a neutral lover’s dream come true.
When I first opened up the collection and was greeted by the Konjac Sponge (£5.90 here – link), I thought it was a bit odd, but if you think about it, it makes perfect sense, as the Konjac Sponge is the very definition of ‘less is better’ when it comes to cleansing; the idea being that you just use the sponge to cleanse skin, but if you’re a make-up wearer then you’ll definitely need a bit more help! There’s also the obligatory Kiko Pochette which makes an appearance in most Kiko collections; this one has a liquid-in-plastic side which I always find quite soothing to play with. It’s £14.90 here – link.
If you’re looking for the perfect nude matte lip, the Less is Better Matte Lipstick comes in four perfect nudes in a liquid application with a fully opaque finish. I’m a little over the matte lip, but if you still can’t get enough then I’d recommend checking them out. These are seriously nude shades, with all shades other than Essential Rose being an extremely neutral take on nude, so you’ll need to love a nude lip to like these! I love the application – you apply and let it set, then once it’s dry it’s stays put. They’re £6.90 here – link.
The Less is Better Fluid Highlighters are really, really gorgeous; available in two warm, golden shades, these pretty highlighters are slightly confusingly described as they look like they could be foundations and the blurb speaks of coverage, but I definitely think they’re designed to highlight more than anything else. I think these work best mixed in with foundation to add a bit of glow and warmth. They’re £11.90 here – link.
Now things start to get really exciting; would you just look at those stunning blush shades?! The Less is Better Cream Blushes come in two rosy shades that add the perfect hit of gentle colour to cheeks. These are such a great addition to the collection as they perfectly compliment the whole nude/neutral look – it would be so easy to go for the usual browns and bronzes for something like this and I love the fact that they’ve gone for pinker shades. These are £8.90 here – link.
There are two types of eye products in the range, the first of which is the very handy Less is Better Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow, which comes in three shades and works in a similar fashion to the matte lipsticks in that it applies creamy, but once in position it stays put. The three shades are all easy, wearable neutrals that work alone or together, depending on what look you go for. These are £6.90 here – link.
The final product is the Less is Better Eyeshadow Palette, which is teeny tiny but very pretty. There are nine shades in total, all of which are neutral and either matte or shimmery. A total bargain at £11.90 here – link. I know I keep saying it but this collection really is something special, consisting of ‘suits-all’ shades in easy, touchable formulas that mean you can throw together a pretty look in a couple of minutes using only your fingers. I love this edit so much and I’m so excited to see what’s coming from the next collection, Tropic Heat, which looks equally stunning and very Summery!

Thanks Rhi! It is a lovely collection xx
The eye products and the lip products look gorgeous! I am a true believer of the ‘less is better’ philosophy when it comes to most things in life, let alone makeup! Gorgeous!

Me too! That’s what’s so fab about this collection; it really taps into the natural, easy make-up look and I love it so much! xx
