You often hear of Summery fragrances described as ‘Sunshine in a Bottle’, well, now we have Sunshine in a Lipstick too. As you can see, the Lipstick Queen Mornin’ Sunshine Lipstick is a bright, sunshine yellow that’s every bit as summery as it looks and sounds and really is the perfect antidote to the rather grey and overcast start to May.
Don’t be fooled by the bright yellow colour of the bullet, as once applied it becomes a much more wearable shade of pink; the particular shade of pink will depend on the pH of your lips – on my arm it’s a bright, mid pink and on my lips it’s a slightly darker, almost light berry shade. Whilst I don’t believe that these types of shade adjusting products will change to be your perfect shade, I do think that they’re unlikely to go too extreme either way (either too bright or too dull) so you’ll likely end up with an easy, wearable shade.
The formula of the Lipstick Queen Mornin’ Sunshine Lipstick is absolutely lovely and very much the ‘Goldilocks’ of lipstick formulas, as it’s creamy rather than glossy and pigmented without any chalkiness or harsh finishes, which also means it provides an even finish that fades just as evenly. It isn’t the most long-lasting formula, but it’s very hydrating and easy to apply, so you don’t need to get a perfect application and can happily apply on the go. I always feel that Lipstick Queen releases are perfect examples of labours of love, as they seem so fun and creative whilst still being highly usable, and I especially love it when individual products arrive, like this one, as they always feel a bit special. The Lipstick Queen Mornin’ Sunshine Lipstick is £22 and has just launched into Space NK here – link.
