Birchbox August 2017

Mermaid fans might want to ready themselves as the Birchbox August 2017 edition is going to be right up your street; it’s a Mermaid Vibe themed box that contains five products, which is basically a Summer themed box with a little more focus on mermaid-y colours.

There are five products in the box, with a good balance across the genres.  Everybody is getting a full-sized Spectrum brush and a full-sized LOC shadow stick, as well as three other products that’ll differ depending on what box you’re sent.

Make-up brushes are my weakness and I love the fact that beauty boxes are often including them recently.  The included Spectrum Collections A05 brush will be either in the Glam Clam (pictured) colours or the pinker Bomb Shell variant.  I have two of the Glam Clam brushes so I’m happy I got another to match my growing set.  The LOC One and Done Shadow Stick in Out of Your Shell (or Rock Steady, depending on what you get) is a handy little product as I can see myself using this for highlighting.  I’m really looking forward to trying the Number 4 Sugar Texturizing Spray as I love anything that promises texture.

The Huygens Supernature Cream sounds really interesting, promising to hydrate skin whilst soothing redness and naturally boost radiance.  It’s quite a small sample so it’ll be difficult to see if it works, but if you’re like me, you’ll hopefully be able to quickly work out if it’s any good for your skin.  The final product is the cult NUXE Huile Prodigieuse which is a nice enough inclusion, but it just seems to be one of those products that does the beauty box rounds so often that it’s difficult to get excited about it.  However, if it’s something you use quite a lot then this dinky sized version will be a welcome addition to the box.  Check out Birchbox here – link.
