I think I have to start by acknowledging the beauty that is the pink and sparkly packaging on the Redken Diamond Oil Glow Dry collection, isn’t it pretty? The range consists of four products, Diamond Oil Glow Dry Shampoo, Conditioner, Scrub and Diamond Oil Glow Dry which is an oil that seriously looks like a bottle of perfume – it’s stunning. I’ve been trying out the scrub, shampoo and conditioner.
The Redken Diamond Oil Glow Dry range is an oil-enriched collection designed to give hair serious shine without weighing it down, whilst also making it easier to blow-dry, so perfect if you’re someone who struggles to get that perfectly sleek and shiny finish, or if you’re like me and don’t struggle to get sleek hair, but end up with hair so flat that it looks like it could do with another wash straight after drying. Out of the three products, I’d say the Diamond Oil Glow Dry Scrub is the one I reached for least as it isn’t really the sort of product that would work with my hair, although I get why it exists; it’s kind of like a prepping product that’ll gently buff away any heavy product residue, so great if you use a lot of styling products, but I tend not to. It’s £17 here – link.
I was surprised how well I got on with the shampoo and conditioner as I thought they’d probably be better suited to someone with dry or frizzy hair, but actually, it gave my hair a good hit of volume and made it a lot easier to style and, more specifically, keep a style. I actually think it’s a collection that suits my hair type best of all as it gives hair a bit of a substance and depth, making it look full and thick without any greasiness. I will say that I think the oil product itself is probably quite integral to the overall finish as once I used the washing duo (or trio) I felt that I needed to add something to smooth it down a bit, but I would presume that any smoothing oil would do a good job here, since it’s a range built on smoothing the hair. The shampoo is £14.50, the conditioner is £16 and the oil is £33.50, all of which can be found here – link.
