I’m doing so many foundation features recently that I’ve decided to create a series which I’m calling Foundation Files. The Shiseido Synchro Skin Glow Luminizing Fluid Foundation is a relatively new foundation that promises a wealth of benefits, such as eight hours of hydration and tone-adapting technology which together provide a long-lasting, healthy glow. Shiseido are one of those brands I find really appealing as they create the perfect balance of exciting technology alongside flattering colours (if you haven’t already, check out their Perfect Rouge Lipsticks here – link – a gorgeous collection of beautiful shades in the creamiest formula) which is accurately demonstrated in their newest foundation launch.
The Shiseido Synchro Skin Glow Luminizing Fluid Foundation is available in fifteen shades which is pretty decent, although there aren’t a lot of great options for darker skin tones. There are, however, some fantastic paler shades, with rose shades for those who are a bit more pink in their complexion, golden shades for the warmer ones and neutral for those who are bang in the middle, or can go either way, like me; my shade is Neutral 1 – the palest in the neutral category – and it’s perfect for me, as you can see in the pictures.
The Shiseido Synchro Skin Glow Luminizing Fluid Foundation promises you glow, and glow is exactly what it gives; skin looks incredibly glowy (not shiny!) in that perfected, “really good skin” way that is so hard to achieve with a foundation that provides any level of real coverage, yet as you can see, this one from Shiseido provides a thoroughly decent level of coverage for a product that’s all about the glow. I would describe this as a medium coverage, at a push you could get it to medium-high, but really tricky skin would need a concealer on the top. At the moment, my skin isn’t terrible, with the main issues being redness, so a medium coverage foundation, like this one, is ideal.
This is a beautiful foundation that really will give you that glowy, slightly dewy finish that just wakes up your face, making it particularly great if you’re short of time and can only use a few products. This is also really hydrating without any greasiness, so a handy choice for anyone with issues of dryness or dehydration. You can find out more about the product from the Shiseido site here – link – or pick it up from House of Fraser here – link. It’s also available at John Lewis and Harrods.
