One of my favourite lip launches of last year was the Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Shine Lipsticks, because they’re pretty close to perfection in my eyes; a gorgeous formula that feels very comforting to wear, in a great choice of shades, each housed in the iconic red Armani packaging – there’s a lot to love about these little sticks of joy.
The four shades I was sent are (from left to right) Smile (100) – a pinky beige nude; Silenzio (200) – a deep brown-leaning nude; Four Hundred (400) the perfectly balanced red and finally Play (300) a surprisingly wearable, muted orange. Smile is definitely my favourite of the bunch, as it’s perfect nude for dressing up with a strong eye, or pairing with low key make-up for a polished finish. However, I’m so pleased I was sent Four Hundred which is the iconic Armani red shade that really is beautiful to wear.
Beyond the excellent shade range, my favourite thing about the Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Shine Lipsticks is the formula, which provides plenty of hydration in a flattering, shiny/balmy finish that’s so pretty on the lips, and is particularly well suited to the colder months as the soothing formula won’t exacerbate dryness or make it appear more obvious. These aren’t long-wearing – what balm-type lip products are? – but they do last longer than you’d expect and they wear evenly too. They also apply cleanly and they don’t slip all over the place as is often the case with similar formulas. The Blogosphere has gone crazy for these beauties and I’m well and truly on the bandwagon too, as they really are wonderful to use, flattering to wear and a joy to have in your handbag. Available in 18 shades (broken down into categories: Nudes, Brown, Corals, Reds, Pinks and Plums) these are £29 each and can be found here – link.
