On this dreary February morning, it’s a joy to be writing about the beautiful new Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Paint On Liquid Lipcolors, which are a new type of liquid lipstick from the brand, available in 18 shades across three finishes: Matte, Vinyl and Metallic.
The Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Paint On Liquid Lipcolor in the matte finish is available in 10 shades, making it the most comprehensive shade range in the three finishes. It’s the sort of matte finish you’d expect from a luxury brand, with the formula providing a creamy and comfortable long-wear finish that’s even and with the kind of finish that’s fully matte without any chalkiness – if you hate matte finishes due to how they feel on the lips, this is the one for you.
The Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Paint On Liquid Lipcolor in the vinyl finish is probably the most traditional liquid lipstick out of the three, providing a dense, full-coverage finish that’s great for a statement lip, but as there are some more muted shades, this works as an everyday product too. It’s available in four, very wearable shades and the fade is nice and even, even though the colour is strong.
The final finish in the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Paint On Liquid Lipcolor range is the metallic finish, but before you recoil with images of the 90’s Heather Shimmer style metallic lip, this is a beautiful, slightly shimmery and multi-dimensional take on a metallic finish that’s gentle enough for everyday wear and very pretty. Think “metallic when the light catches it” rather than full-on glimmer and glitter. The metallic finish is also available in four shades.
The three shades I have are Pink Zinc from the mattes, Flash It from the vinyls and Lacquer Lover from the metallics. Pink Zinc is the shade I zoned straight in on when attending the event, as it’s that beautiful, fleshy, muted, nude-leaning pink that’s so gorgeous on and works with every type of make-up look, be it day or night, flash or neutral.
Flash It is the one I’m wearing above which, as you can see, is a mid berry tone with a mid-level of shine that’s also lovely on the lips and very comfortable, as they all are – contrary to the high pigment finish, you don’t feel like you’re wearing a thick coat of colour. Lacquer Lover is quite similar to Flash It, but a little deeper in tone and shot through with the tiniest hint of red and blue shimmer, making this a very flattering lipstick. As demonstrated in the pictures, you can also get your Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Paint On Liquid Lipcolor engraved (or any other Estee Lauder purchases – a great choice for a personal gift) which makes them even more special, with the engraving available in a choice of fonts and finishes – the service is available at Selfridges London.
