The glorious Cosmetics à la Carte Summer of Love Collection is one of those edits that just perfectly delivers all the things you could love about Summer make-up; think buttery textures, unashamedly pretty colours and glowy, dewy finishes – this is one of those collections that makes you swoon. The Cosmetics à la Carte Summer of Love Collection consists of three elements; there’s the pinks, the apricots and the Complexion Enhancers, plus the versatile Shimmer Outliner shade that can tag-in to any of three main sections. The pinks and apricots both have a Cream Blush shade and a corresponding Colour Rich Matte Liquid Lipstick. There are three shades of the Complexion Enhancers – do-it-all glow-givers that can offer everything from a lit within finish to a seriously sunkissed look, depending on what shade you fancy; I really want Rosekiss. These are £40 each here – link.
What I really love about the collection is that both colourways are very flattering and wearable. The Colour Rich Matte Liquid Lipsticks are a great formula that goes on evenly and stays put; it’s quite thick and pigmented, so for me it’s a bit too much, but I don’t really gravitate towards matte formulas for lips as I love a creamy, glossy finish. However, if you like a matte lip, I’d recommend trying these, especially the Summer of Love shade which is a very pretty, neutral pink. They’re £26 each.
The Shimmer Outliner in Amour can be used as a liner, but I used it as an all over eyeshadow to give eyes a subtle bit of light and lift. The formula is creamy and glossy, so it fits in really well with the overall vibe of the collection. I haven’t used it as a liner yet, but I can see that it would work really well for a subtle effect. It’s £28.
Finally, all my love is going into the Cream Blushes, both of which are gorgeous shades that are so beautiful on the skin – they give that glowy, healthy look that’s shiny without the grease; I absolutely love them and I’m melting through the pink shade (Romance) as it looks great on the lips too. The apricot shade (Crush) looks in the pan as if it would look terrible on me and my very pale complexion, but actually it gives a really warm and natural lift that’s really lovely. I gravitate towards the Romance shade because it’s such a lovely pink, but both shades are equally flattering. They’re £30 each.
