Last month I posted about my recent Budget Beauty Binge, which allowed me to find some fantastic bargain bits that have firmly placed themselves in my ‘regular use’ collection. I have been dipping in and out of London recently for various events, and I managed to pick up a few luxury items that I thought I’d share with you too. They’re not all technically luxury as some sit in the mid range, but I thought it was easier to lump them all together.
First up, I got a couple of bits from Mac, starting with the Studio Finish SPF30 Concealer. I’m still really into my Mac Mineralize Foundation which has started off a bit of an obsession with Mac products, especially as it’s so easy to match to my skin tone – I’m NC15. The concealer is £16.50 here – link. I also picked up a mini Prep + Prime Fix+ which I’m kind of regretting as it isn’t the best value at 30ml for £12 where the full-sized one is £19 for 100ml. I’m a big fan of setting sprays though so at least I got to try it out. Find the mini version here – link.
The Dr Jart+ BB Creams launched in the UK ages ago – then they apparently disappeared for some reason. I picked up the Dr Jart+ Dermaclear Trans-Foam Clay Pink as it sounds interesting – it’s a mask/cleanser hybrid that promises to hydrate and deeply cleanse. It’s £8 so I thought I’d give it a go! I’ll review it very soon, but if you can find it at Selfridges here – link. When the BB Creams were widely available, my favourite was the Platinum version so I decided to pick it up and try it again. I found it on eBay for £15 here – link.
Finally, no luxe beauty hall is complete without at least something from Hourglass. I went for the Veil Retouching Fluid Concealer in the shade Fair as it sounds interesting and like the sort of product I’d like – I’ll be reviewing it in more detail soon. It’s £25 here – link. My final purchase was by far the prettiest of the bunch, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Ethereal Glow, which is a pale, cool-toned pink. I have to use quite a lot of this to produce any kind of colour payoff on my skin, so it’s probably a tad too pale, even for me, but I think it would look amazing on really pale, porcelain skin. I also really like the formula so I’m probably going to pick up one or two more shades – I do love a pretty blusher. It’s £32 here – link.
