Before I went away, I was invited to have a nose around the Just My Look site and select a a few products to try. Normally these haul types of features are a bit of a battle as I’m soooo fussy that I often struggle to find products I actually like, but that definitely wasn’t the case here! Just My Look is an impressive large beauty shop, stocking some amazing brands spanning the entire beauty spectrum – think skincare, makeup, hair care, bath products, gadgets, tools, sun care, tanning products…and pretty much anything else you can think of – there’s a lot to check out!
I was given £50 to spend specifically on make-up at Just My Look, which I first thought wouldn’t get me very far, but actually there were some decent deals to be found, as well as a few ranges that I’d been wanting to try for a while, so I ended up getting quite a bit for my buck. I picked up two palettes, the first of which was the W7 On The Rocks, which is an apparent dupe of the ABH Subculture palette and I thought looked pretty interesting. It’s £4.90 here – link.
Another dupe I decided to try out was the LA Girl USA Beauty Brick 12 Colour Eyeshadow Palette in shade Nudes, as I thought it looked quite a lot liked the Urban Decay 3 palette which is the one I don’t have in my collection…not that I believe a dupe is ever a suitable replacement for the original, but I thought I could give the dupe a try, see how much it gets used, then possibly upgrade at a later date. It’s here – link – for £7.99.
I went for two slightly more luxury items in my haul, starting with the Daniel Sandler Watercolour Creme Rouge Blush in shade Soft Pink. I know Daniel Sandler is most known for his Watercolour blushes in liquid form, but I really do love the creme versions which are just as pigmented, but creamier and (I find) easier to blend. I’ve had one shade of a while and I’d been hoping to add another colour to my collection, so it had to be done. It’s £10.99 here – link. I’ve also heard lots of great things about Gerard Cosmetics, although they don’t seem to be widely available in the UK, so I was very happy to see them here. I went for the Lipstick in shade Rodeo Drive, which is £13.99 here – link.
I’m always on the look out for a new brow product, so my next choice was the LA Girl USA Shade Slim Brow Pencil in shade Taupe, although it’s definitely not what I would call taupe as it’s far too warm for me. It’s £4.79 here – link. Misslyn are another brand that have recently appeared on my radar, and as I’m really into budget highlighters at the mo, I thought I’d add one to my haul, so I went for the Glow For it Strobing Powder which is £7.40 here – link.
The main things I like about Just My Look is the incredible stock – there are so many brilliant brands that’ll definitely get you out of a makeup slump – and the price point; most of the products are reduced (even by a little) so you can grab yourself a bargain.
