With just a few more days to go until Christmas Day arrives, some of you might not be feeling the Christmas Cheer; hopefully this gorgeous collection, a collaboration between Disney’s The Nutcracker and OPI, will change that, as this is such a beautifully festive edit of colours that just looking at it makes me feel Christmassy!
I’m also so impressed by how OPI collections are interpreted, as they’re always so enticing and full of colour, whilst also being inclusive and appealing to all. The OPI Nutcracker collection is a perfect example of this, with a great selection of colours to please all tastes; there are a few traditional Christmas colours, some gently sparkly numbers and some bright and fun shades too – whatever your Christmas colour choice, this collection has you covered.
The Envy the Adventure is a mid-toned green that’s rich and Christmassy (promise to stop using that word soon…) and has all the Christmas Tree vibes. Candied Kingdom is another Christmassy number; a true, bright, flattering red that’d do Santa proud and is a great party colour choice. If you like your reds a little more demure, Ginger’s Revenge is a deeper, moodier berry-toned red that’s vampy whilst staying the right side of festive.
Dancing Keeps Me on my Toes is a beautiful, shimmery snow white that’s so pretty as either a sheer wash of colour or built-up to a more opaque finish – either of which evokes all the snowy feels. Right at the other end of the spectrum is Black to Reality, a deep, dark blackened red with red shimmer shot throughout – a modern, shimmery Rouge Noir shade. Dazzling Dew Drop is your typical shimmery gold, that leans quite warm and definitely screams “party nails”. The one I zoned straight in on is Berry Fairy Fun, a shimmery purple with a metallic finish that’s beautiful, quite unusual and still festive whilst offering something a bit different.
Lavendare to Find Courage makes me horrendously nostalgic, as it reminds me a colour I used to wear constantly in my very early teens, many, many years ago…it’s a creamy lilac that’s very pretty. Dreams Need Clara-Fication is another pretty pastel; a sky blue shade that works really well as an accent nail to some of the deeper shades. Toying with Trouble is a bright fuchsia that I absolutely love – this is the perfect bright and creamy pink that’ll work fabulous as a pedicure shade, but also really well as a party shade. Finally, the March in Uniform shade is another great Winter shade that’s more suited to post-party nails for me, as I absolutely love a navy nail.
As you can see, this is a banging collection of stunning shades that meet all the festive and party needs – I love it so much and it’s one of my favourite OPI collections for a while. If I had to pick a favourite, I think I would go with Berry Fairy Fun as it does provide a fun alternative to the more typical party colours. Toying With Trouble is also a beautiful take on fuchsia, whilst March in Uniform is a really lovely navy. I also really like Candied Kingdom for a very flattering bright red.
I’ll also give a quick mention to the OPI Start to Finish, which is a really handy all-in-one product that performs as a base coat, top coat and nail strengthener – my nails are rubbish at the mo (I don’t know if it’s the weather or what, but they won’t stop splitting!) so I’m really hoping this will help me to grow them a little longer; my NY resolution is to take better care of my nails (I’m sure I say it every year…) so this will definitely get some use.
