Chantecaille are the WORST for my bank balance as I literally want everything they make, regardless of whether it would actually suit me or not. The packaging is always so pretty, the shades are flattering and enticing and the brand ethos is incredibly appealing, with each collection shining a light on a charitable cause that often has links to animal welfare, so my heart is completely on board with all things Chantecaille. A few weeks ago I had a look at the new Spring and Summer launches, so here’s a peek at some of the Spring pretties.
The Chantecaille HD Perfecting Loose Powder is already available in the original formula, but the new addition is the Candlelight version, which gives skin a soft sheen of gentle shimmer for that covetable “lit from within” glow. The product comes in a travel-friendly self-dispensing brush, and the powder itself is incredibly finely milled, so it works really well as a setting product and doesn’t cling to dry patches. I’m very fussy with powders as I like a good glow which I think powders often detract from, but this one does the exact opposite and really is lovely. It’s doesn’t seem to be out yet, but it will be £63 when it launches.
The Chantecaille Lip Cristals are definitely the standout products in the Chantecaille Polar Ice Collection. There are three lipsticks shades in total, each of which is housed in a white case with an image of a polar bear to acknowledge the fact that each lipstick sold will result in one tree being planed in the Attenborough Canopy in Kenya.
The focus of the charitable cause in this collection is addressing global warming, and the main early signs of global warming are the polar ice caps melting which is impacting the homes of polar bears. I love the fact that investing in a timeless lipstick will also involve donating to such an important cause.
The three shades of the Chantecaille Lip Cristals are Tourmaline – frosted pink; Citrine – pale peach and Carnelian – bright cherry red. The glitter looks absolutely terrifying on the bullet but I can assure you that the result is a beautiful, sparkly sheen rather than a chunky, glittery disco ball effect – I took one look at that glitter and thought there was no way I could wear that, but, as sparkle goes, they are very wearable and extremely pretty.
The lipsticks shades I have are Citrine and Carnelian, and I’m wearing Citrine in the selfie picture here. As you can see, the Citrine shade translates to a soft, shimmery peach that’s almost holographic on the lips. The formula is comfortable and wears evenly, plus – most importantly – it doesn’t spread, so you won’t end up with particles of sparkle all over your chin and lower jaw line!
In the selfie I’m wearing the Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation (absolutely amazing – believe the hype!) set in place with the aforementioned Chantecaille HD Perfecting Loose Powder in Candlelight and Citrine on the lips. The Chantecaille Polar Ice Collection also contains a Polar Ice Eye Palette which contains nine pretty shadows in three finishes – sparkle, metallic and radiant glow – plus three Celestial Nail Sheer polishes. The Lip Cristals are £42 each and available here – link.
Citrine is my kind of shade! I’ve only ever tried one product from Chantecaille 🙁 xx
