Fragrance Friday: Lancome Idole
I have spent the last 24 hours obsessing over the new fragrance, Lancome Idole, because it is just one of those perfumes that I know I’m going to use right up until the very last drop! I used to post about fragrances regularly as part of my Fragrance Friday series, but other than a quick intro to a new collection, I haven’t included any new fragrances on the blog this year because I’ve found very little that excited me…until now!
Lancome Idole is housed in an incredibly slender bottle that’s just 15mm thick, providing a bottle that is attractive and unique, although not the easiest to store! The fragrance itself is inspired by the concept that there is an idol in every woman, resulting in a fragrance that is feminine and very pretty, modern and right up my street.
Lancome Idole starts with Bergamot essence at the top, with rose essence, rose absolute and rose water alongside jasmine infusion and jasmine absolute at the heart. The base is patchouli heart essence, cedar essence and vanilla extract – so fresh and zingy at the top, floral at the heart and mostly woody and spicy at the base. The result is a beautiful fragrance that mostly rests on the gorgeous heart notes, with the jasmine and rose blending beautifully. Jasmine is my all-time favourite scent and I love it paired with rose, so it was inevitable that I’d love this scent.
Another thing worthy of a mention is that the raw ingredients that form the Lancome Idole fragrance, such as the rose, are sustainably and ethically sourced and the bottle itself is refillable, so once the perfume has launched, you’ll be able to refill it at one of 200 Lancome counters across the UK, receiving a discount on the replenishment, which I think is a fantastic idea that’ll encourage people to move away from throwaway bottles.
Lancome Idole is available now from Lancome retailers nationwide, and the Lancome site here – link – for £48 for 25ml, £75 for 50ml (pictured) or £85 for 75ml.
