OPI Neon Collection 2019

Is there anything better than a bright nail in the summer sun? I’ve realised recently just how much I love colour and how happy the right, bright shades can make me, so I’m happily embracing all things neon, starting with the gorgeous OPI Neon Collection for Summer 2019. The collection contains six fantastically bright shades, with a good mix and a finish that I want to call semi-matte – I can’t seem to find any confirmation either way online, but I definitely feel these lean more matte than glossy, which is fine by me as they look great either as they are, or with a glossy top coat to finish.

The six shades include: V-I-Pink Passes (bright pink), Pump Up the Volume (bright yellow), Positive Vibes Only (bright purple), Orange You a Rockstar (bright orange), Dance Party Teal Dawn (bright teal) and finally Music is my Muse (bright blue), so as you can see, all the main brights are covered with a neon for everyone!

As predictably as ever, I was all over V-I-Pink Passes as soon as it arrived as it’s such a beautiful bright pink, a shade I truly love and always welcome to my collection.  Another colour I always gravitate towards is a beautiful sea blue, especially if it’s lovely and bright – Music is my Muse reminds me of the colour of the sea on tourist board imagery of hot countries, it always looks so bright and inviting and this blue is exactly that.

There are no shades I dislike in the collection, although I don’t think I could pull off Pump up the Volume as I’m not sure that shade of yellow would work for me – yellow is a tricky colour – but I think I could work with everything else, even the teal and orange shades, because they’re so bright and fun.  The OPI Neon Collection 2019 is available now in all three OPI formulas, singles and sets.
