Other than being a bit of a nightmare to photograph when fully extended (a priority I can’t imagine tops the list of many people…) the IT Cosmetics IT Girl Beauty Book is, I feel, about as close as you can get to being the perfect palette. Not only is it solid and really well-made, it contains a little bit of everything that you might need to perfect, enhance, touch-up and improve, all of which comes housed in a perfectly-sized, very travel-friendly folding book with a decent mirror, making it the best thing for ever for those of us who get around – if you’re someone who travels lots and drags a bag of beauty everywhere you go, then the IT Cosmetics IT Girl Beauty Book is here to save the day.
The IT Cosmetics IT Girl Beauty Book appears to be something IT regularly release around this time of the year, presumably because it’s such a fantastic idea for a Christmas gift. I don’t know if there have been more than two so far, but I have the 2018 edition as well as this 2019 edition. I adore my 2018 book because I feel like it puts the magic back into make-up – you know when you were a kid and you fantasised about doing your make-up? This palette is how I imagined it would be – everything you need in one place, providing lots of joy in a practical format.
The IT Cosmetics Limited Edition IT Girl Beauty Book starts off with the base page, and on here you will find a trio of Bye Bye Under Eye Concealing Pots – Fair – light, Medium – Tan and Tan – Rich – followed by two decent sized powders: the cult Bye Bye Pores Pressed and Bye Bye Pores Bronzer in shade Beach. The middle page contains your lips and colour products, starting at the top with the Ombre Radiance Blush in shade Bubbly, then three Blurred Lines Lipsticks in shades Adorn, Je Ne Sais Quoi and Thrill. The final product on the middle page is a cream highlighter in the shade Aglow. The QVC site describes it as the Hello Light Powder, but you’re actually getting a cream product instead, unlike last year which did contain a powder.
The final page is my favourite, because it’s all about the eyes; I’ve been saying for years that IT Cosmetics do the best eyeshadow formula and that is still very much the case. The top product is the Superhero Eye Foundation (a brilliant eye base) in shade Cashmere, then you get nine eyeshadows in shades (top left to bottom right) Beam, Glimmer, Sparkler, Dash, Glint, Wink, Ember, All Heart and Flicker. The final two products are the Superhero Liner in powder form (I wonder how it would work at a tightliner? Definitely one to try!) and the Brow Power Powder in Universal Taupe. The first page in both 2018 and 2019 are the same and the second pages are similar, with the main difference being the slight variance in shades of the lip and cheek products and the different highlighter. Both years gave us the same liner, brow and eye base products, but the eyeshadows are a completely different mix – I actually prefer the 2019 shades – the 2018 were gorgeous mauvey, but the 2019 are a lot more taupe – although interestingly, All Heart from last year was matte, whereas this year it’s a sparkler!
The IT Cosmetics Limited Edition IT Girl Beauty Book 2019 is a QVC UK exclusive and if you fancy it, do not waver, as even though this is a Christmas release, it was gone quite a while before Christmas last year and I believe that once they’re gone, they’re gone! It’s currently £49.98 plus £1.95 P+P. Handily, it’s available on 2 Easy Pays for £24.99 each.
I’ve yet to try their eyeshadows but I remember you saying before that the formula is amazing. This would make a gorgeous gift! x
