How absolutely gorgeous is the packaging for the February 2021 Glossybox?! I love that old-school cassette style, it’s fabulously retro and definitely one I’ll be keeping. The Glossybox February 2021 is, predictably, themed around all things love related, but it’s actually done really well, championing a love for music rather than love itself.
It’s a mixed bag of products in the February Glossybox 2021 contents, with five products in total, all of which are full-sized. It’s all pink and red, so very on-theme without being too sickly. It’s missing something edible and chocolately, so I’m obviously bitterly disappointed. Here’s a look at what’s included:
Nudestix Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balm – I love Nudestix (who doesn’t) so I think this is a great product to be included in the box, although it’s in a bright red which is probably not a shade I’ll have the opportunity to wear anytime soon.
Avant Velvet Perfecting Rose Sugar Lip Scrub – Avant appear to be an almost monthly feature in Glossybox. The problem I have with Avant is how highly they price their products; this lip scrub retails for £58 which honestly I find baffling and it makes it hard for me to give Avant any genuine consideration as there’s no way the lip scrub is going to blow my mind enough for me to justify such a price point. I love a bit of a luxury, especially in skincare, but if you’re going to set such high price points then you need to deliver exceptionally.
Bubble T Cosmetics Peach Bellini Hand Cream – this is my favourite product in the months box as I love Peach Bellini’s and this smells gorgeously fruity and upbeat! I really do like everything about this hand cream; the packaging is fun, the cream itself sinks in well and leaves a faint peachy scent, so it’s a winner for me.
Glow on 5th Rose Gua Sha – Oh my gosh, this is such a disappointment! I was so excited to get a Rose Gua Sha as they’re meant to be amazing at cooling and soothing skin like mine that can get a bit randomly annoyed, but this one is made of plastic, so the benefits of using a stone-based Gua Sha (such as Jade, or what I expected, Rose Quartz) aren’t going to be present in what is basically a plastic massage tool. Such a shame!
Steve Laurant Total Repair Lip Mask – I actually quite like the idea of a lip mask as my lips are so dry at the moment, and I don’t like wearing lip balm before bed as I find I end up with some of it in my mouth which irritates my throat (then I spend the night coughing wondering if I’m developing the ‘rona – fun times) so something designed to quickly and deeply hydrate my lips sounds good to me.
As I said, a bit of a mixed bag – I really like the Nudestix and Bubble T product, the Steve Laurant lip mask is a nice touch, the Avant product works well within the them and the plastic Gua Sha is really not what you want, but it all comes in the most fantastic box that I absolutely adore, so definitely neither the best or worst month for Glossybox, but there are a few goodies that make it an okay box.
