The Body Shop has just released a collection of products that are such a great way of addressing the current need for sanitation, done in the most beautifully inviting fashion that’s typical of The Body Shop: Antibac, but make it pretty! I do love lemons (particularly in a loaf cake) but I don’t tend to gravitate towards lemon-based beauty as I find it’s often very stark and synthetic, but the The Body Shop lemon fragrance is done so well, it reminds me of how my hands smell after grating lemons (for the aforementioned lemon cake) as it’s such a bright and zesty scent, no Cif evocations here, thankfully!
There are quite a few products in the range, including the Lemon Caring and Purifying Hair Mist (£12 here – link) which I think is such a clever idea, as it’s tap into that one area that tends to get a bit neglected when considering possible areas of contamination – I use an electrolysed water spray on my hair whenever I’ve been out, but I certainly would prefer to use something specifically designated to such a task.
The Lemon Purifying Hand Wash (£8.50 here – link) is pretty much everything you would expect from a lemon wash; it’s fresh, bright and very clean; there is definitely something psychological about using lemons in a hand wash that have me convinced that the inclusion of lemon somehow gets my hands just that little bit more clean. This lathers well and leaves a soft, lemony fragrance making hands feel exceptionally clean.
The Lemon Cleansing Anti-Bacterial Hand Sanitiser (£6 for 100ml or £12 for pictured 250ml here – link) is just a really nice way to do the essential task of hand sanitisation, but don’t let the fact that it’s a beauty branded product fool you, as this really packs a punch; I tried this for the first time and made the mistake of giving my hands a good hard sniff before the alcohol had evaporated and it made my eyes water! Of course, in normal settings, this level of alcohol would be a bad thing, but in a product designed to kill off bacteria, you want it to be strong and powerful. Once the alcohol has done the job, you’re left with lightly scented, lemony fingers.
The Lemon Protecting Hand and Body Lotion (£10 here – link) is my favourite of the trio as The Body Shop do creams so incredibly well, so add that expertise to a rich, lemony, buttery cream and you have an absolute winner. Much like the previous duo, this also contains that beautifully balanced sweet, citric lemon, but the creaminess ensures it’s not too tart and just feels lovely and a really uplifting pleasure to use, it’s like smothering yourself in a freshly made lemon yoghurt!

I love citrus based body care, so this would be right up my street! Do you remember their fruit-shaped soaps? The lemon one was brilliant for getting fake tan off your hands! My friends and I loved it! x
