L’Oreal Professionel Mythic Oil

I remember when the L’Oreal Professional Mythic Oil first launched and everyone went crazy for it, but as someone who, at the time, had very fine, shoulder-length hair, I gave it a wide berth because my oily-prone hair definitely didn’t need any more oil. Now my hair is heavily coloured and very long, so I need all the help I can get in maintaining the quality, so the L’Oreal Professional Mythic Oil has been a real treat to try.

The L’Oreal Professional Mythic Oil is, as you’ve probably guessed, an oil designed to repair and protect hair whilst adding softness and shine. It’s key ingredient is Argan Oil and the formula is like a light, oily serum, so it doesn’t feel like applying a neat oil to hair, which I didn’t really fancy! It absorbs very quickly without any residue and it also provides heat protection up to 230 degrees, which is a huge selling point for me as I really believe that you can’t have enough heat protection on your hair – I go overboard with SPF on my face and heat protection products on my hair and I truly believe that layering up can do only good things for both!

When I’m going for a very lazy hair regime, I start with a spray-on heat protection all over, then follow with Mythic Oil on my lengths and ends. I then either give it a quick rough dry or let it dry naturally, and I’ve noticed a big improvement in softness, especially the ends which seem to lap up this oily treat. I also believe that my hair dries quicker when I use it, although I’m not really sure why, but I’ve definitely noticed a difference!

I’ve curled my hair a few times recently which can leave hair looking a bit dry and dull, but once my curls have set, I apply one pump of this to the lower half of the lengths and ends and it finishes the whole look so well, plus I also think this really helps with static hair, something I get quite a lot as I use a lot of nourishing wet hair care products that can often give my fine hair a bit too much electricity.

The L’Oreal Professional Mythic Oil is a really great product that I would say is well suited to all hair types, other than maybe those with very fine hair. I note that there are a few more products in the Mythic Oil range including a mask for fine hair which sounds fascinating, so I might have to give that a go soon!
