I absolutely adore Trinny London (check out my veeery long post introducing my last purchases here) as it’s such a brilliantly constructed range that’s virtually foolproof (you can’t not look better with a bit of Trinny on your face!) so I was excited when they launched their skincare and I love the way they’ve done it; they started with a couple of cleansers, then slowly added more to their collection over a short space of time, so you could gradually get to the know the new skincare range without getting overwhelmed.
The Trinny London skincare range launched with two cleansers: Be Your Best Enzyme Balm Cleanser (£32 her – link) and Better Off AHA/PHA Gel Cleanser (£28 here – link) or you can save a few quid and buy the Double Cleanse Set for £54 here – link. Obviously you don’t need both, but if you’re a double cleanser like me (cleansing is my absolute favourite part of my skincare routine – I find it so ritualistically reassuring!) then this duo is designed to work optimally to ensure thoroughly cleansed skin. Both cleansers are suitable for all skin types, although the AHA/PHA Gel Cleanser is especially well suited to oilier skin types, whilst the Enzyme Balm Cleanser is well suited to dryer skin types, but I wouldn’t say either should only be used within these parameters as they’re both pretty gentle.
The Be Your Best Enzyme Balm Cleanser is the first step in a double cleanse routine as the balmy gel texture is particularly well suited to makeup and SPF removal. It can be used both AM and PM, is gentle enough for the delicate eye area and comes with a muslin cloth for removal. It’s a very dense texture that needs to be warmed-up, either in your hands or over your face, which I personally really like in a cleanser as I find the grip does a better job at getting everything off my face, but if you’re looking for an oily balm that’ll melt down in moments then this is not the one for you.
The Better Off AHA/PHAH Gel Cleanser can be also be used as an AM or PM cleanse and follows after an oil or balm cleanse really well. This is a wonderful take on a chemical exfoliating cleanser containing some of my favourite gentle acids (Lactic Acid and Malic Acid, as well as Lactobionic Acid) so you get that smoothing, brightening effect without any redness or irritation. For me, I prefer this as my AM cleanse as I use quite strong actives at night so I tend to keep away from anything acid-based at the moment, but it is a great choice for the second stage of the traditional double cleanse routine.
I really like both the Trinny London cleansers and I would struggle to pick a favourite as they both do exactly as they promise. If you’re looking to streamline your routine then these really do provide all of your cleansing needs, and I love the fact that the bottles are refillable too. Find both cleansers here – link.
Trinny London has also launched a range of liquid exfoliants, targeted serums and moisturisers, all of which can be found here – link.
