I’ve been so looking forward to sharing my thoughts on the new Urban Decay Hydromaniac Blush Glow Hydrator blushers and finally the time has come! As you can probably tell, I had lots of fun putting together the images, but I had even more fun trying out the blushers as they could not be more me; from a young age, I’ve always loved that gorgeous, glowy, dewy, plump cheek look that is actually surprisingly hard to get right: if the product is too emollient the finish can look greasy, if there’s too much pigment it can quickly look unnatural, but, at the same time, if there’s not enough pigment then the product becomes a bit pointless. Enter, the Urban Decay Hydromaniac Blush Glow Hydrator which have got it all exactly right – even the colours are fantastic!
The Urban Decay Hydromaniac Blush Glow Hydrators come in six shades and the formula is enriched with skin-loving ingredients that give it a really lovely, dewy finish, but without a hint of greasiness. The formula blends like an absolute dream, plus the pigment is buildable, so you can get a really good, natural flush that sits comfortably on the skin, adding lots of glow without accentuating any texture.
The six shades all tend to sit within the red/coral/pink spectrum, so I really hope they extend the shade range to include some peach and paler pink tones, as this formula in those shades would be absolutely dreamy. I was sent three shades (in the same order as swatched above):
Drippin’ – a bright (but very wearable) mid-toned pink
Wrecked – my favourite of the trio, this one is also pink but slightly cooler and a lot more muted
Obsessed – a coral-leaning red, if you fancy trying a red blush then this is the one!
I was thrilled with the shades I was sent as those are the three I would’ve picked for myself. Wrecked is the one I’ve been wearing constantly since they arrived, and Drippin’ is also a favourite – I tread carefully with Obsessed as I have a lot of post-acne scarring so red blush is not always the greatest choice for me, but I’ve still worn it a couple of times and it really is the most beautiful take on a bright coral.
I realise it’s probably a bit premature, but I would think that the Urban Decay Hydromaniac Blush Glow Hydrators are my favourite launch of 2023, as they are very much my kind of product. They are £25 each and you can find them at the main Urban Decay site here as well as at Cult Beauty here.
