I’ll hold my hands up and say that I never really got carried away with the excitement that arrived with heart-shaped face colour products. First of all the Too Faced Sweethearts launched to mucho mayhem, then Champions of the Dupe, Makeup Revolution, released their Blushing Hearts in an array of colours and uses with three types available – blushers, bronzers and highlighters. I have one of each to show you today.
First up, I will say that these sure are purdy up close – they’re presented to appear like a little mini box of chocolates, which you open to find a heart-shaped box and within that you find the heart-shaped powder. I’ll start with the Triple Baked Bronzer in what I believe is the shade Hot Summer of Love – I’m a little confused as there seems to be two Summer of Love shades of the Triple Baked Bronzer and I think the one I have is the ‘hot’ variant, although there isn’t anything on the packaging to suggest that and I’m basing this purely on the pictures on the Makeup Revolution site…so apologies if I’ve got that wrong!
In the above swatch I’ve gone across the three colours from left to right with the final swatch being a blend of all three shades. As you can see, it’s a high-shimmer bronzer that adds a lot of light and warmth to the skin. It’s too shimmery for my every day wear but man alive would this look phenomenal over a tan. The formula is lovely and light so you can blend it around and since it’s such a generous size it would work great as a shimmery bronzer for the body too. It’s £4.99 here – link.
Next up is the Triple Baked Highlighter in Goddess of Love which is one of two new Highlighter shades. It’s a relatively neutral (or possibly slightly cool) yellow shade with a high shimmer finish that I think would suit darker skin tones, although having tried it on myself it works well at adding light, but I just feel it’ll really pop against a darker skin.
In the swatches I’ve done a light swatch on the left and built it up a bit more on the right. It’s definitely more of a shimmer than a colour which is why I didn’t build it up so severely that you could see the colour, as I can’t see anyone wanting to do that! It’s £4.99 here – link.
I’ve saved my favourite of the three ’til last with the Blushing Hearts shade of the Triple Baked Blusher. This cool pink shade gives more of a glowy, metallic finish with a little sparkle that disperses well on the face. It’s an extremely flattering colour and finish and I’m really surprised how much I like it, although, as with all shimmery finish blushes, a light touch is definitely needed.
In the swatch I’ve again gone across the heart from left to right with the final swatch being a blend of all three. As with any of the three shade Blushing Hearts you can technically use an individual shade rather than blending all three together, which gives room for play with highlighting, contouring and even eye make-up, making these dinky and very prettily presented heart boxes a bargain at less than a fiver a go. You can find the Blushing Hearts shade for £4.99 here – link.

That’s my favourite of the trio too, such a lovely pink! xx
So pretty!
I’ve ordered the highlighter and bronzer already. I literally cannot wait for them to arrive. I’m almost regretting only buying two based on your lovely photos.
Thanks so much! Fingers crossed they arrive nice and quickly! xx
Very nice review, I am planning to buying some of these, but “Blushing Hearts” isn’t the name of the shade, it’s just the name of the product.. Would you mind telling us which shade this is? 🙂
Hi Freja,
It’s a bit confusing but that does appear to be the shade name and the collection name! Here is the one I have, which is the Blushing Heart shade of the Blushing Hearts xx
