One of my main NY resolutions was to start doing a lot more at-home manicure maintenance; partly because I get my nails done every week and it seems silly to invest so much time and money in something without doing the necessary maintenance in-between, but partly because I actually really enjoy it! I’m a fan of pampering, we know this, and one of the quickest ways to feel pampered is to pretty-up your fingers. Barry M do some of the very best nail products available at the most fantastic value, so when they released their new range of nail care products, I couldn’t wait to get stuck-in and try them out.
There are three new products being released: Super Mani, Iron Mani and Mani Mask, the latter of which comes in two shades. Super Mani is a 7-in-1 treatment that’s packed full of nail-loving goodies such as Keratin and Argan Oil to hydrate, strengthen, promote shine and generally improve the overall quality and finish of the nail surface. It’s designed like a treatment that you use twice a week as either a base coat or standalone product, and results are obvious from the first use. I used it as a base coat and it sat very well under polish, whilst making my weather-beaten nails feel and look stronger. The second treatment product is the Iron Mani, which is described as the “Ultimate Nail Hardener”. As I’m sure you can guess from the name, this is a product designed to considerably strengthen nails as a base coat and it delivers similar elements to the Super Mani, but with more of a focus on strengthening the nail, plus it’s more of a base coat and less of a treatment.
The Mani Mask is like a multi-purpose, BB Cream style product for nails, that camouflages, colours and conditions nails. It’s a really interesting product that really does flatter, with a slightly translucent, semi-matte finish. The two shades available are Bashful (pink) and Birthday Suit (nude), and you can see me wearing Bashful here. I really like the concept of these types of polishes, as they’re perfect if you’re short of time of between manicure appointments. They deliver a treatment that’s good for your nails, whilst also lightly disguising any flaws and adding a hint of complimentary colour – it’s safe to say I’m a fan! All of the new nail care products from Barry M launch tomorrow (20th January 2016) and each product is £3.99.

I see you apply twice weekly. Do you remove before reapplying? Thanks
So sorry, which of the products are you referring to?
Hi same question here and I bought the 7 in 1 base coat.
To be honest I think it’s probably a good idea to remove and reapply if you’re leaving it a few days between application, but if you have particularly weak nails and want to apply each day then I don’t think it would be an issue; I don’t think the treatment products are the type to leave a thick coat no matter how many times you apply – I would guess a full removal once a week (or thereabouts) to give nails a refresh would do the trick xx
I find that I cant remove Barry M mani mask with normal nail polish remover. What is best? Is that common with this product? Or does it have to grow out?
Thank you
I have always removed it with nail polish remover after about one week of wearing it. My nails feel so much smoother and stronger after just the week of wearing it so I would suggest that taking it off with remover is fine.
