This wonderfully sunny Bank Holiday Friday is the most perfect day to talk about the new Diptyque Eau des Sens fragrance, since it’s the most beautifully fresh, Spring day, so let’s take a closer look at this beautifully fresh, Spring fragrance! Diptyque Eau des Sens is a zingy, fruity, citric and slightly floral scent with wonderfully light notes that will definitely blow away the Winter cobwebs and get you in the mood for the lighter, brighter days. The vibrant, floral and fruity top notes of bitter orange and orange blossom quickly give way to a fresh burst of juniper berries which then settle down into the patchouli and angelica. A word of warning, you’ll need to be a patchouli fan as I find this is the note that dominates most after the dry down.
As is usual with Diptyque fragrances, Eau des Sens is like a fragrance journey that encompasses a bit of everything – which makes sense considering it’s designed to “awaken the senses – with citric, floral, wood and even slightly spicy notes. You think this would result in an “Ambery” finish more suited to the colder months, but thanks to the lightness of the bitter orange and orange blossom, this a truly lovely Spring scent. This is a really good example of the sort of fragrance that you need to spray and leave to establish whether you’re a fan, as the journey finishes at a completely different scent to where it starts. I’m a huge Diptyque fan as they produce such lovely perfumes, with Eau des Sens being another great example of what they do so well. It’s available in 50ml and 100ml bottles, with the 50ml costing £60 and the 100ml costing £80. There’s also a matching soap available for £17, all of which can be found here – link.
