Love List – October 2018

I’m still pretty sporadic with my Love List features, but in October there were a few products that really did it for me, so it was easy for me to put together a list of favourites.  I’ve lifted my five product limit for my love lists which means I don’t have to narrow it down and I can waffle away about any and all of my monthly favourites, which is what I’m planning to do now…

The ELF Hydrating Booster Drops (£10 here – link) are a perfect example of how boosting skincare should be done, as they blend really well with all other skincare, plus they work well alone as a hydrating serum – I especially recommend if you’re trying to keep your skincare as simple as possible as these really do offer a good boost of hydration without any tackiness or greasiness.  I wrote about my recent beauty purchases here, which included The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner (£8 here – link), a product that I’m really enjoying using as it’s soooo hydrating for just a toner, so it’s particularly great for balancing out any skincare that’s a little aggressive or active.  I’ve had the Bobbi Brown Primer Plus Protection SPF50 (£24 here – link) (original review here) for quite a while, but it’s only recently that I’ve started to use it regularly as I’ve been trying out quite a rich moisturiser which needed a lighter SPF than my usual Neostrata one.  What’s lovely about the Bobbi Brown SPF50 is that it works really well with other products and it doesn’t leave a whist cast, plus it gives a hit of hydration and adds a bit of glow too – it really is a great all-in-one product.

Alongside the MAC Mineralize Moisture, the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light (£33.50 here – link) has been one of my most worn foundations for 2018 as it gives just the right level of coverage and glow without looking heavy or cakey – it’s a lovely formula with a light but slightly buildable coverage and it really does improve the look of skin whilst being surprisingly long-lasting for such a conditioning formula – here’s my original review. I was recently sent a selection of Etmore products to try, so I’ll be writing up an introduction to them soon, but I had to have a quick rave about the Etmore Forever Fibre Brows (£8.99 here – link) because they are just so good! They’re a really interesting product that looks like lots of little fibres on the brush, but when you apply it it’s just a matte cream that gives brows impressive definition and thickness – if you’re like me and a bit rubbish at getting your brows to look half decent, this is the product for you; I’ve even got my mum to order a tube for herself.   tarte recently redid their Creaseless Concealer (£29.04 here – link) – both the formula and the packaging – and the feedback was mixed.  I’ve never tried the original, but I’ve been very impressed with the newer version, which covers unbelievably well, especially spots and pigmentation. For me, it isn’t creaseless and it does settle into fine lines, but don’t they all? Pick it up from QVC UK and it comes with a really good brush for concealing too.

The Garnier Intensive Restoring Hand Cream (£3.29 here – link) is another product that’s been sitting around in my box of goodies to be tested, and I’ve finally made a start on it to find that it’s absolutely brilliant for extremely dry hands like mine; it’s rich and hydrating, but it does actually sink-in pretty quickly, although I like to layer it up and use it as a night treatment.  It appears to have changed packaging but I believe it’s the same thing as the SOS treatment.  The final product is my beautiful bottle of Dior Joy (starting at £53.50 here – link) – no surprises for including it my love list as it’s one of the loveliest fragrances I’ve tried for a very long time; it’s pretty, feminine, light and enchanting, I love it so much!
