This year, my hand and nail care routine has become a labour of love, mostly because my cuticles are absolutely rubbish and my hands are always dry, so it takes a lot of work but I actually feel like I’m getting there thanks to perseverance and this routine that I’ve put together; my nails are stronger, my cuticles are (getting…) tidier, and now I’m in the routine of doing my nails nightly, my manicures last longer too! Here are the products I’ve been using and I really rate them all:
I use the Duri Rejuvacote Nail Growth System (£14.99 here – link) and it is a fantastic product that gets to work on strengthening nails straight away. You apply it nightly as a top coat (either on bare nails or over whatever manicure you have – I have gels on at the mo and it still works over the top) and it dries in moments, so you don’t have to wait around for it to dry. You then remove it once a week and start the process again, until you’re happy with your nails, then you can reduce it to a treatment you use a couple of times a week. If you buy one product to strengthen your nails, make it this one.
The Cutex Intense Recovery (£8.99 here – link) was a recommendation from Jen at Beauty Junkie London and it is brilliant if you have exceptionally dry cuticles like me, as it’s a really thick gel-like oil that you apply to both the cuticles and the nails themselves. It’s supposed to be used twice a day, but it’s a very rich treatment that needs time to absorb, so I’ve just been using this once a day in the evenings after the aforementioned Rejuvacote. My cuticules have never looked as tidy as they do now, so this is definitely a keeper.
I’m trying to get into the habit of using a nail oil throughout the day, so the Nails Inc Vitamin E Oil Pen (£14.50 here – link) is perfect for this as it’s so easy to apply, and it absorbs relatively quickly too, so it’s ideal for on-the-go application. It’s also great for night time use if you don’t need a really rich product like the Cutex one, as it’s so easy to use.
Finally, no hand and nail care routine is complete without a good hand cream, and I absolutely adore the Nursem Caring Hand Cream (£9.99 here – link) not just because it has a fantastic backstory (created by nurses and gives back to nurses – read my full review here) but because it’s a genuinely fantastic product, that really nourishes dry hands, but also, most importantly, absorbs quickly without any greasiness.
I use all three products nightly as part of my routine and my nails are looking amazing!
