I really love doing competitions (which is probably why I do so many!) as they’re fun, interactive and the joy of picking a winner and sending them their win is really exciting. However, I don’t just do them because they’re fun. I also do them because they help spread awareness of my blog and as I work really hard at my blog, I want as many people as possible to have a chance to view it, just in case it might interest them.
It’s so difficult to make a name for yourself in the blogging world, especially when the area you choose to blog in is beauty as there are so many of us! So competitions give my blog a chance to become well known and hopefully well liked.
So! When I find a random winner and then realise that they’re not following the rules of the competition (which will usually include the essential requirement of being a blog follower) it frustrates me as there are so many people who enter these competitions by genuinely following the rules and it’s VERY unfair on them as well as unfair on me as I put a lot of work into both the blog and the competition.
I’m writing this post to make sure that those who enter the competitions I run correctly get acknowledged and are also made aware that I DO check every winner to make sure they’ve done what is necessary to be an eligible winner.
To those who do follow the rules, I really appreciate you doing so and thanks for being a great comper!
Having been a loyal follower and a ‘cooper’ I do really sympathise with you as I have seen the number of times you have had to ‘re-draw’ a competition.
I love reading your articles and have found them really in-depth and so informative.
Please do not get too disheartened!
Thanks so much T; really appreciate your support, both on here and on Facebook 🙂 xxx
