It’s Models Own weekend on Beauty Geek it seems! This is the second of three posts regarding new releases from Models Own and I think this collection is probably my favourite. Models Own Velvet Goth contains five beautifully vampy shades that are well pigmented and contain a good amount of glitter. However, interestingly, they dry matte, meaning the finish is sort of a textured, gentle take on glitter; glitter for growns-ups is probably how I perceive them. I like them very much as both the shades available and the finish of the formula is extremely appealing, especially if you’re not someone who does glitter often.
The five shades available are:
Valerian – Blue
Sardonyx – Red
Amethyst – Purple
Absinthe – Green
Obsidian – Grey
See? Awesome colour edit! I’m so happy to see a grey glitter shade as I think that’s really unusual. Here are the three shades I have:
Velvet Goth – Valerian
Valerian is a rich, Lapis Lazuli shade that blue fans will absolutely love. It works well as a single coat but really comes into its own with two coats.
Velvet Goth – Sardonyx
Sardonyx is probably my favourite out of the three I received as I do love a beautiful ruby red! The glitter works really well within this shade and I can imagine seeing this a lot around the party season.
Velvet Goth – Absinthe
This one is a little different to the other two as it contains a couple of different cuts of glitter which give it a more 3D effect. It’s a lovely, bottle green shade, and out of all of them this is the one that makes me think of velvet most.
As you can see, these are some gorgeous shades that are managing to keep glitter interesting. I love the jewel-like shades and I don’t think there’s one out of all five that I wouldn’t wear – which is unusual for me! These will be £5 each and are already available at the Bottleshop. They’ll be launching at Models Own online on the 2nd September, Boots on the 4th September and Superdrug on 25th September.
