Models Own Show Stopper 2014: Clothes Show Live Release

For the past few years Models Own have released a limited edition nail polish shade to mark the Clothes Show event, and the polish is always called Show Stopper and only available at the event itself.  It’s always a no-holds-barred glitter shade that lives up to it’s show-stopping name, and it’s usually inspired by a relevant celebrity.  This year it’s the winner of Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model, Jade Thompson, who has supplied the inspiration by requesting that Models Own use her favourite sequined dress as the basis for the product.  The result is an extremely pretty turquoise shade shot through with plenty of blue, green and silver glitter that looks absolutely gorgeous.  I can’t seem to find a decent swatch of it online yet unfortunately, but if that changes then I’ll update the post.  From what I can see, it looks like the base shade is translucent, so this would be an ideal product to use over other shades rather than alone, although I could be wrong!

Models Own are easily my favourite budget-friendly nail brand, not just because the quality far exceeds their pricing, but also because they are brilliant at keeping on top of trends and ensuring regular and interesting new releases – the Velvet Goth collection was one of my absolute favourites of 2013 – and they do seem to enjoy a nice bit of glitter in their products! I’m not a huge glitter fan (which is probably why I liked the Velvet Goth shades as they were almost anti-glitter in that they were glitter polishes with a matte finish) but I can definitely see the appeal of the Show Stopper shade for this year, so if you’re keen and plan to attend the Clothes Show this year, don’t forget to stop by the Models Own stand where you can snap up Show Stopper as a gift with purchase.
