Benefit Holiday Collection

Just in case anybody's curious, when I'm not blogging about beauty or replying to e-mails from my lovely readers about beauty related topics (or on Facebook or Twitter talking about beauty), I can be found wandering around various beauty counters taking pictures of things that I think are beautiful.  This week I came across the Benefit holiday range that (I'm guessing) has been released to inspire gift ideas.  Here are a  few of the things that I t[...]

Tom Ford Brow Sculptor

For some reason, ever since I heard about Tom Ford's plans to launch a make-up range I've been referring to it as 'Tom Hardy's Make-Up Range'. I'm fairly confident Tom Hardy has no plans to launch a make-up range (although no official sources have stepped forward to deny it, so you never know) and I fear this may just be my subconscious trying to force Tom Hardy to the forefront of my mind more regularly. I was really looking forward to trying thi[...]

Five Best Barely There Lip Tints

For days when you're feeling the love for the 'no make-up make-up' look (tinted foundation, cream blush and a bit of mascara or similar), nothing finishes the look quite like a sheer lip colour. I'm a big fan of lip tints and I generally prefer ones that are a little on the pink side as I feel they brighten my face. Here's my pick of the best ones: 1. Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Colour Balm I have this in a couple of colours and it's[...]

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Lash Stretching Mascara Preview

I'm on a hunt for a new mascara for no other reason than my irrational belief that although my current mascara is great, there's bound to be something better. I have a mascara addiction and I'm constantly chasing the high that comes from researching and then selecting my next mascara purchase. This is usually followed by disappointment, but occasionally I strike it lucky and as I'm already in love with Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk Foundation, I r[...]

Tightlining the Eyes Tutorial

I briefly covered the Tightlining technique in my introduction here and as promised, here is a tutorial on how to achieve Tightlined eyes. Here's what you will need: L-R: Water Spray, Mascara, Flat Eyeliner Brush, Liner suitable for tightlining. WaterYou don't need a water spray as you can just use a tap, but I find it much more convenient to just spray the brush rather than having to pop to the bathroom each time the brush needs dampening.MascaraYo[...]

HD Brows with Lisa Connell

A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege of meeting the lovely Lisa Connell. Lisa is most famous for her continual fundraising efforts for charities associated with brain tumours which she got involved with after her own diagnosis of an inoperable brain tumour in 2006. Consequently and with the support of her sponsors, she decided to set up as a beauty therapist specialising in HD Brows, LVL Lashes and Nouveau Lashes amongst other specialist trea[...]

Marks and Spencer Beauty

Having paid a visit to my local M&S seeking out items from the Tess Daly collaboration, I found myself pleasantly surprised by the products on offer.  Firstly, their range is huge; I don't know if they've generally expanded or just expanded at my local store, but I couldn't believe the amount that was on offer.  Secondly, the quality and colours made a real impression on me.  Consequently, I thought I'd put together a selection of bits and bobs th[...]

Five Essential e.l.f. Make-Up Brushes

e.l.f. (that's really fiddly to type so I might start calling them ELF from now on) have extended their free shipping offer to cover this weekend for UK and EU shoppers. This means that until Sunday night, we'll all be able to get free shipping on £10 or over spends using the code TBES123 (TBES123EU for EU-ers). To celebrate this and to acknowledge my slightly irrational obsession with make-up brushes and my love for e.l.f. blushes in particular,[...]

e.l.f. Studio Blush Brush

I'm so pleased I went ahead and purchased this brush as it's proved a really excellent investment.  It's incredibly soft, doesn't shed and is really great for buffing product into the cheeks.  Up until I received this, I've been using the Bobbi Brown Blusher Brush which is really great for adding a pop of colour to the cheeks, but it picks up a lot of product which is great if you're using something sheer that you want to build-up, but not so great[...]

e.l.f. Cream Eyeshadow Palette

I go through phases where I prefer powders over creams and vice versa. Sometimes I'll prefer the dewy glow of a great cream blush, other times I'll like to neat flush of a powder. I'm the same with eyeshadows and I'm currently going through a cream eyeshadow loving phase. I decided to try out the e.l.f. Cream Eyeshadow Palette as it appeared to have a nice selection of colours and I haven't tried any e.l.f. cream eyeshadows before. The packag[...]

Tightlining the Eyes – A Brief Introduction

I mentioned on Twitter how I'm really pleased to have come across an eyelining technique called tightlining and a few people got in touch to find out more. It's a tricky technique to explain with words, but I'm going to try! Next week I'll do a pictorial but in the meantime, I'll elaborate on what tightlining is so that hopefully you can give it a go. There seems to be a bit of confusion in regards to the difference between tightlining and lining t[...]
