I have been counting down the days until October began as there have been sooo many possibilities for my FPTIL list over the past month, so I’ve been very excited about putting this month’s list together! The only downside is that, because I’m doing it so early this month the next one will feel like it’s ages away. Ah well….
1. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
I haven’t finished the full review of this fabulous product yet, but it’s safe to say that it’s my new go-to foundation as it’s got such a lovely finish, covers beautifully and the colour is a great match for me. On a slightly shallow note, I also come in at a 4.5 on their colour scale and any brand that allows me to not be the absolute palest on their chart has my vote…
2. Illamasqua Powder Blush in Katie
I hunted and hunted and HUNTED for a pale pink matte blush and finally found it in this. I’ll be writing a full blog detailing my hunt, but in the meantime, this blush is exactly what I was looking for and is my first – and very successful – introduction to Illamasqua as a brand. The blush is incredibly pigmented, very finely milled and really effective at adding a pop of pale pink to my cheeks.
3. Skinceuticals Blemish + Age Defense Serum
I wrote a review of this product here raving about the impact it’s had on my skin. It really has clarified, evened and boosted my overall skintone and minimised my blemishes. I’m now almost due my period and unfortunately a couple of hormonal spots have fought their way past the defence of this serum, but usually by this point in my cycle I’m covered so the fact that only a couple have risen to the surface speaks volumes about the effectiveness of this treatment.
4. Eucerin Q10 Active Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream for Sensitive Skin
Another one I’m yet to write a full review on (it’s coming!) this is the richest cream I’ve ever been able to use on my face without causing a crazy breakout. It’s deeply nourishing, smells like butter (which is a bit strange, I’ll grant you) and combined with the Skinceuticals serum above, is giving me a nightly anti-ageing, spot-free boost.
5. Chanel Touch-Up Brush
This little beauty is proving invaluable in my daily make-up routine. It’s perfect for finishing off my base – I use it to apply Bobbi Brown’s powder foundation over the liquid so I don’t shine too much – but the bristles are also dense enough so that I can apply really natural bronzer and even perfectly applied blush. Used to apply blush, the finish is really natural and pretty. I got this in the Chanel goody bag at the LGFB event at Selfridges and I’m so pleased I did!
I have tried the Giorgio Armani Silk foundation last year and it qwas good! Glad you like it!
It is good isn’t it? I’m quite fussy when it comes to foundation (apparently I expect too much!) but this one has really made an impression on me 🙂 x
fab prizes! x
I love the colour of the Illamasqua Powder Blush in Katie. Thanks for the reviews – gives me some ideas.
@maisietoo
I am really desperate to get the Illamasqua (I cant spell it!!) blush!

I love Illamasqua products, the blush definitely looks worth a try, really nice colour!
@claire_trevor
It really is ‘such’ a gorgeous colour. I’ll get my swatch on shortly and post the pictures; it’s truly the perfect pale pink! Thanks for your comments 🙂 xx
Hi there, I just recieved samples of the skinceuticals product you have posted, so I will give you feedback on the results in the next couple of weeks. I have oily skin, so wrinkles are not a problem even in my late forties, but breaking out still is, I honestly thought that was just for my teenage years…but know the gift just keeps on coming. Yesterday I had a peel from my dermatologist from skinceuticals products, and she gave me the samples to try, so I will give you feedback soon.
That’s great! Really hope it works for you and I look forward to your update xx
