I said to myself last year that this year I’d need to start posting pictures of my face. ย It’s a very daunting experience, especially as I (very luckily) receive quite a bit of traffic now and the idea of putting my warts ‘n’ all mug up for all to criticise is very scary! ย There’s an overriding fear that people will look at my picture, cackle and say “I’m expected to take beauty tips from that??!!” ย Hopefully that won’t happen…..
I have such a love for make-up and an equal love for viewing what other people do with their make-up, so I wanted to start sharing my ‘looks’. ย It’s safe to say that my photography skills leave much to be desired and I’ll never know what to do with my mouth when having my picture taken; for some reason, if you stick a camera in front of my face my jaw locks into a stiff, uncomfortable position that really isn’t flattering!
Anyway, on to my F.O.T.D which today was all about the eye. ย The whole look is really simple with the main focus being the eyes. ย There’s a lot I’ve used today that I haven’t reviewed yet but I definitely will as some of the bits and bobs are new to my collection but absolutely amazing.
For my face I used:
Everyday Minerals Colour Corrector in Mint to tone down the redness of my spots and acne scars.
Everyday Minerals Semi-Matte Base in Ivory
Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush in Pink
I’m still struggling with a few spots and my skin is looking rather horrid with lots of post blemish marks, so I’m currently relying on a full coverage mineral foundation to stop them peeping through!
For the eyes I used:
Tom Ford Brow Sculptor in Blonde (my review is here)
17 Instant Glow Bronzing Rocks* (I used this as an eyeshadow)
Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eye Liner in Black Ebony (for more info on tightlining the eyes have a look at my pictorial here)
Shu Uemera Eyelash Curler
17 Peep Show Mascara*
I didn’t bother to fix my eyebrows in place as I like to keep them looking naturally defined. ย I used a soft brush to apply the bronzing rocks and I only used one coat of mascara.
For the lips I used:
Palladio Tinted Lipbalm in Cotton Candy*
I wanted to keep the lips really natural so I used a tinted lipbalm for a hint of colour. ย The bronze on the eye is quite a strong look so anything too bright on the lips risks clashing.
So there you have it! ย That’s my F.O.T.D. for today. ย What do you think?

Great post, as always! The eyelash curlers/no7 mascara has really worked. I love Laura Mercier liners, well in fact most of her line! x
Thanks so much MrAJBx3 ๐ xx
@Lucy me too, I’m obsessed with Laura Mercier now. A few years ago I got her secret camouflage and couldn’t get on with it, but since I started using her liners and then got one of her palettes for Xmas I’ve been lusting over the range ever since! xx
