Clinique Almost Lipstick Shy Honey

Clinique recently launched a range of lipsticks that are well named as ‘almost lipsticks’ as that’s pretty much exactly what they are.  They’re sheer, lightly pigmented and along the lines of tinted lipbalms thanks to the ingredients including Vitamin E.

I have far, far, FAR too many baby pink tinted lipbalms, but I saw this one in Shy Honey and decided I needed it.  Having swatched the whole range here, it’s obvious that the darker the shade, the more pigmented the payoff gets so Shy Honey, which I believe to be the lightest, is very sheer.  It’s a fairly neutral – maybe slightly leaning towards blue – pink that I personally really love.

The packaging is a slim, metallic/chrome lipstick that makes application really easy.  As the finish is so sheer, you don’t really need a mirror if you’re in a hurry and want to colour your lips quickly.

I’m finding myself hunting through the 11 (!!) lipsticks in my bag to seek this out due to the fact that it’s a pretty, easy colour, application is a breeze and it really moisturises my lips so I’m definitely a fan of this range.  However, I do believe that there are cheaper brands doing pretty much the same thing that won’t charge you £16 a pop; I feel you’re paying for the packaging and the name in this instance.
