I’ve been meaning to write about this for quite some time as I mentioned a while ago that the two shades were similar. Similar they may be but the same they are not as you can hopefully see in the pictures below.
Illamasqua Katie |
Bobbi Brown Nude Pink |
Illamasqua’s Katie is a lot more peachy toned and slightly lighter, whereas BB’s Nude Pink is more blue-toned.

When swatched stark, they look very different in colour and Katie looks much paler and slightly chalkier.
However, when blended down they become a bit more alike.

These are both very different blushes, both colour wise and texturally. Katie is very matte and a little on the chalky side, whereas Nude Pink is very blendable but more blue-toned with a brighter finish. So I guess it depends what sort of pale pink you’re after as I personally find both of these fabulous.
Bobbi Brown Nude Pink is £18 and available here.
Illamasqua Katie is £16.50 and available here.
Both of them look very similar but I think I like Illamasqua one more. x
That’s interesting as I’m more about the BB one 🙂 Seems opinion is divided! xx
Thanks for the swatches. Am favouring the Bobbi Brown one.
No problem 🙂 I’m with you, I prefer pinks to be slightly bluer in tone xx
Forgot to say that Bobbi Brown has a counter near me but Illamasqua means going into Oxford Street.
That’s the exact problem I have too as I have a BB counter where I regularly shop, whereas my only real option for Illamasqua is either online or Selfridges and I don’t really like to go into London if I can help it! xx
yes they are very similar, but I prefer the Bobbi Brown one 🙂 i always wanted to try Bobbi Brown products but never had the chance, i think this blush would be a good start 🙂
Oh you should most definitely try them as they’re fantastic; I’m obsessed with everything they bring out! I prefer the BB one too 🙂 xx
I’m quite pale with blonde hair and really want to find a nice natural blusher for every day use at work. Not in to bright blushes. Been looking at mac colours. Can u help?
Hi Nicola,
Thanks for your comment. Have you tried Mac’s Mocha? It looks quite brown in the pan but it translates to a really lovely warm pink that I think looks great against pale skin tones. If you want something more pink then the BB Nude Pink one in the above post is fab too xx
Thankyou! I will take a look and let u know!
No probs, good luck! xx
