This new addition to 17’s polish range is just too cool. It’s a colour switch, meaning that the colour you apply will change when you add a topcoat, so you can doodle on all sorts of detailing to bring through the new colour, resulting in fantastic results in very little time.
I thought I’d experiment and see if I could just bring forward the second colour on the tips, which left me with this look. I’m really happy with it! It’s the sort of colours that I never would’ve considered putting together in the style of a French manicure, yet I think the contrasting colours work fantastically well.
Of course the downside of this look is that you can’t seal it in with a topcoat without completely removing the design (a topcoat will bring the second colour forward completely) so the look isn’t going to last you beyond a few days without chips showing, but in fairness, I did my nails a couple of days ago and whilst it hasn’t got that perfect, newly-applied finish any more, it’s still definitely got a couple more days left in it yet before it starts looking raggedy.
Application wise, the initial coat goes a bit streaky due to its high metallic finish, but it really isn’t noticeable unless you’re really looking for it. This look was achieved with one coat of varnish followed by one coat of the top coat applied to the tips. Both coats dried incredibly quickly, so if you need to do your nails in a hurry and fancy doing something a bit different then I heartily recommend these, I seriously think they’re fab.
Unfortunately I’m not too sure what the name of this shade is as it isn’t on the bottle and I can’t seem to match it to any on the Boots site, but as there are seven variants available in the range I’ll be picking up the pink version shortly so expect to see that make an appearance on here soon.
Available now from Boots priced at £3.49.
