Whilst browsing my local Chanel counter (I think it’s the second time in the past few weeks that I’ve started a blog post like that; I can’t help it, I like Chanel) I clocked these new arrivals, Stylo Eyeshadows, which are cream eyeshadow pens, touted as fresh effect eyeshadow.
So far there are only six shades available, but the edit is really good with a good covering of the colour spectrum to include some very seasonal shades. The Chanel Stylo Eyeshadows themselves are extremely cooling on application and once set, don’t seem to budge. However, you do have a good couple of minutes to work with before they’re set solid, meaning you can blend and buff until you have a finish you’re happy with.
Speaking of finishes, as you can probably/hopefully see from the swatches, all six shades have quite a high metallic finish, which I think means they’re probably new rivals to Bobbi Brown’s Metallic Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadow, but in a pen format.
The below swatches are first in day light, then artificial light, followed by artificial with a flash. The shades in all swatches are as follows:
Left row from top to bottom: Moon River, Black Stream, Blue Bay.
Right row from top to bottom: Pink Lagoon, Jade Shore, Cool Gold.
Moon River will be on of those shades that everyone can pull off; an easy to wear, shimmering taupe. Whereas for me, the most interesting shade is Pink Lagoon although I’d tread carefully as it will pull forward any redness in the eyes. Black Stream is such a solid payoff of black but the silver shimmer stops it falling flat, so I would imagine this will become a staple of most kits. I can’t wait to see what other shades they release! Available now from all Chanel counters at £23. Boots have them all in stock here.
Moon river is so beautiful! I may have to check it out in store 😛
