I thought I’d write a quick update as a few things have happened in the past couple of days and even though I love to talk beauty on my blog, I also find it quite therapeutic to talk about other things that are on my mind, but I’ve included “Off-Topic” starter to warn those who are not interested!
Yesterday I had a private scan and found out that I’m expecting a boy! The reason I had a private scan was because Matt is a sailor and he won’t be around when I have my main scan in a couple of weeks, so we thought we’d sneak-a-peak and see if we could find out the gender, which we thankfully did. It was strange finding it out as I was a lot happier about it being a boy than I thought it would be, whereas Matt was a bit shell-shocked by it all; the complete opposite of how I thought it would go!
I’m extremely excited, obviously, but during the scan, Little Man’s measurements were taken and it turns out he’s showing a bit small. I’m hoping this is nothing to worry about but of course I am really, really worried now. I’ve read all sorts of horror stories online (Google is NOT your friend in these circumstances) and I’m now very nervous about what this all might mean. I won’t know much more until the next scan on the 19th June, so for the time being I’m just trying to (unsuccessfully) avoid the forums and hope for the best. It does really help that Little Man appears to kick-off every time I start talking about my worries – like now – which is wonderfully reassuring and long may it continue.
So fingers crossed for me please and I’ll keep you updated xx
Congratulations! And I know it must be hard but try not to worry, stress can’t be helpful for either of you x
Try not to worry. You had your scan early and babies do grow at an alarming rate so I’m sure your little man will be looking different in a few weeks. Eat healthily, relax and forget about those fears. Xx
Oh Sweetie I know it’s hard not to worry but try to relax and stay away from Google! I too had a few scares and ended up with a beautiful girl! xoxo 🙂
Try not to worry. Babies grow at different speeds. Follow a healthy diet and your doctors advice. Other than that relax and don’t try to diagnose yourself.
I know you can’t help it, but try not worry about the size – this is just the average. If it is any consolation, I had to be rescanned at 38 weeks with my son because the consultant was concerned about the size and whether the baby would be 5lb at birth (didn’t know sex at this point)- the scan estimated a 6lb baby. – the following week, I gave birth to a 9lb 15oz healthy son, so they aren’t always right!
