Here we have a quick look at what is probably my favourite part of GOSH’s AW13 collection, the Smokey Eye Liners. GOSH Smokey Eye liners are available in four shades: 01 Smokey Black, 02 Smokey Brown, 03 Smokey Plum and 04 Smokey Blue. I zoned straight in on the Smokey Plum variant and it”s interesting how it actually works a lot better on the eyes than it does in the swatch below.
GOSH have got the balance just right with these smokey liners, as you want to be able to build the colour up and smudge it out without then losing all the colour again. I recently reviewed Maybelline’s Eye Studio Master Smokey, which in comparison tend to smudge down a little too much and can look quite sheer, which is fine if that’s what you’re after, but having tried the GOSH Smokey Eye Liners today, I definitely prefer the drama they offer and the fact that they’re thinner allows for more precise application too.
With regards to shades, I’d say the weakest is the black as it’s not a true black, but the brown is a really lovely shade with a slight almost khaki finish, the plum is a perfect flatterer for blue eyes and the blue is a really interesting take on a cornflour shade. All-in-all, a great smokey liner with a comfortable smudger available in a good selection of shades, albeit nothing too out there. GOSH Smokey Eye Liners will launch into Superdrug at the start of August 2013 and will be priced at £5.99 each.
