Benefit’s Oxygen Wow – or Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow to use its full name – has been on my to-try list for absolutely ages, as I’ve read nothing but good reviews. So when it popped through my door in a lovely little surprise package, I could not wait to get it out and give it a go! I think the thing that’s always put me off purchasing it myself is the fact that I need extremely high coverage and tend not to deviate from that. However, I’m pleased to report that, so far, I’m getting on really well with this foundation.
Oxygen Wow is available in nine shades that span a fairly good range, so I think most people would be okay, other than maybe the extremely pale or extremely dark. Thankfully, Believe in Me – which is their lightest shade – is a fairly good match, albeit a little warmer than I might normally go for; I’d say it’s equal to a Mac NW20 if I were to guess. The formula is brightening and designed to give a luminous finish. Normally this means lots of the dreaded sparkle, but thankfully that is not the case for this. Instead it gives a dewy finish that manages to comfortably shy away from shiny or greasy; it’s extremely flattering and natural looking.
Coverage wise I was pleasantly surprised and would rate it at a buildable medium. Obviously it isn’t high coverage so problem skin types like mine will need a touch of concealer to cover everything, but to be honest, it does such a good job at evening my skin and toning down the redness that I haven’t actually bothered with any extra concealer on my last couple of make-up applications. It’s also very well lasting and tends not to allow my normally oily skin to grease it up, which is astonishing as my skin takes no prisoners when it decides it wants to oil up! Instead this maintains the dewy, flattering finish that has clearly made this foundation the best-seller it is. So if you’re looking for something very natural that’ll offer decent coverage and a healthy finish, here’s your answer; no wonder it’s so popular! Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation is available now priced at £25.50.
