Here we have something I’m clearly going to be in need of in a few weeks, considering I’ve put on well over 2 stone since getting pregnant…Homedics have released an at-home slimming device, called the UltraSlim Pro, designed to break down fatty deposits and reduce body measurements using ultrasonic technology. To simplify, this involves using a hand-held device that produce a feeling of intense vibration (similar to pins and needles) which works at reducing fat.
The UltraSlim Pro has been created with healthy people in mind; it isn’t a cure-all for overweight people, but instead is aimed at those of us who are generally in good nick, but struggle with fatty areas such as tums, bums, thighs and arms. Results start to develop after 2 weeks of using this twice a week for up to 40 minutes; you should only spend 20 minutes on one target area at a time and no more than 40 minutes in one go.
Unfortunately I couldn’t go anywhere near this due to its unsuitability for use during pregnancy (and during breast feeding) so I can’t tell you my thoughts on how it feels, but I did see it demonstrated and it really didn’t look like it was uncomfortable, instead just kind of zingy! It’s really not cheap at all at £999, but reviews and initial reports are promising, so if it saves you money on things such as liposuction or salon visits for similar treatments then it’s definitely a worthwhile, long-term investment. After the initial outlay, the only extra expense will be topping up stock of the conductive gel which is £39.99 for 500ml. More info can be found here.
