Next Thursday I will be nine months pregnant…quite astonishing! I remember at the very start of this pregnancy thinking that nine months felt like an eternity (I’m impatient at the best of times) and that it would be so difficult to get on with life whilst I was aware that a little person was growing inside me, but here we are, almost at the end and I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone!
I had a great scan yesterday with some excellent news being that LM is now 4.11lb meaning that he’s caught up weight-wise and is no longer showing small. I had a feeling he had, but it was great to get it confirmed. He’s still as active as ever, and if you check the picture above, you can see that he has his hands balled up into fists in front of his face like a little boxer. I was hoping for something a bit more girly and sensitive for him – ballet dancer maybe, or watercolour artist – but if he needs to be a boxer then he needs to be a boxer. He’s currently practising on my bladder, so that’s just grand.
I also had it confirmed yesterday that I’m anaemic, which just means that LM is getting all the iron he needs from my blood, whereas I’m not. It was a huge relief to find this out to be honest, as I’ve been really struggling with tiredness and sleeping lots, yet the sleep quality was rubbish, so I’m now on iron supplements and hopefully they’ll do their job soon.
Other than that, it’s just a few more weeks before I get to meet my Little Man! I have one more scan booked in for 38 weeks, then at 39 weeks I’ll have my c-section and there we have it; the baby has landed. Can’t wait!
