I really hate the name of the day Black Friday as I think it makes it sound so incredibly morbid and depressing, whereas all it is is the unofficial start of the the Christmas shopping period and a day that shops offer discounts and reductions for a very limited period. It’s actually got quite an interesting story of origin, so if you can be bothered, give it a Google.
It’s really worth being savvy and doing your Christmas shopping today whilst the discounts are available, as you can make some pretty decent savings. Get online, do some research and find out what’s on offer because a lot of stores will be offering something, even if it’s just a token gesture. Here is a tiny selection of some of the stores partaking in the Black Friday promotion and what they’re offering:

John Lewis appear to be doing something quite brand-specific rather than a general discount. At the time of writing there’s not a lot of info on the site other than the mention of 20% of Neom and 10% off Clarisonic, both of which I think will certainly generate plenty of interest! – link.
