For some inexplicable reason I wasn’t hugely excited when the Kiko Ultra Glossy Stylo Lipstick Set arrived, yet I have no idea why! It could’ve been due to the fact that it arrived with the nail set, or it could’ve been that there was only one shade that really jumped out at me (the pink, rather predictably) but for whatever reason I didn’t pay too much attention to the set for a few days after it’s arrival.
To quote one of life’s most awesome films “Big mistake; HUGE” as the lipsticks in this set are absolutely gorgeous and quite possibly my favourite ever lipstick set. The formula is right up my street; buttery, shiny without being too sticky or glossy, and the finish is a light wash of colour that can be built up for a stronger hit, but looks awesome in that extremely sexy, wet, stained lips way that I’m a big fan of. Due to the gentleness of the finish, all shades are pretty flattering, and rather surprisingly I’ve actually been wearing Pearly Natural Sand quite a bit, which is a brown-leaning nude shade – not something I’d ever normally go for at all, but, like the rest of the shades, it’s just so pretty and flattering.
There’s a shade for everyone included in this kit with a nude, a pink, a red, a rose and a coral all covered, meaning that this is a great present for either someone who doesn’t have a lot of make-up, or someone who’s kit needs an update. Having said that, I don’t fit into either of the aforementioned categories and I love this kit, so it’s definitely a gorgeous gift for a beauty lover too.
The price is extremely reasonable at £16.90 for the set, meaning each lipstick costs less than £3.50 Considering the shade range and the phenomenal finish (think a slightly juicier version of the original Chubbies) then this set to me is a total bargain and to be honest, even if you don’t need to buy it as a gift, then it would make an ideal treat for yourself. The Kiko Ultra Glossy Style Lipstick Set is available now from Kiko online – link – and in store.
