Quick Pick Tuesday: BabyFace Soap Bar

January 28, 2014 · In: Acne, Reviews, Skincare

The BabyFace Soap Bar is probably my favourite cleansing bar to date as it’s so incredibly effective yet gentle and natural.  It’s lead ingredient is Donkey milk (seriously!) meaning that the most active element is lactic acid; one of the most gentle and natural exfoliators available and it really does work beautifully in this cleansing bar.

I can’t comment on the effectiveness of this as a make-up remover as I’ve only used it as phase 2 of my cleansing routine (you know how I am about double cleansing) and recently I’ve just been using it before I jump in the shower as a pre-shower treatment.  You can use it as a standard soap, but one of the best ways to use it is like a quick mask; lather it up so you get a cream residue, work this all over the face then leave for a minute or two.

A big no-no for me is a facial bar that strips my skin of moisture and leaves it feeling tight.  Out of all the facial soap bars I’ve tried, this one does it the least, and in fact leaves skin feeling smooth and moisturised.  As mentioned in my post about my current skincare routine, I’m sticking with very easy, wipe-off products that I can use just as I collapse into bed, but I use this as a treatment every other day.  As you can see in the above picture, it comes beautifully presented with a lovely and soft cotton flannel, making this a beautiful gift (dare I say…Valentines?) as well as a well-priced skincare investment at £16.95.  Head here for more info – link.
