Illamasqua is one of the few brands I get intensely excited about when I’m aware that new arrivals are on their way. On the day of the event I start checking my e-mail and Jane’s blog to see if there’s any insight into what’s coming; I have no patience! The newest launch from Illamasqua is called Glamore, which is a modern take on the typical old-school glamour with lots of pink, sparkles and matching lips ‘n’ tips; quite unlike Illamasqua, I’m sure you’ll agree, in the sense that you don’t really associate terribly traditional beauty looks with the brand, but they’ve given it their own edge with opaque glitter finishes and pigment-packed colour.
There are 6 new arrivals in total; 3 shades of the new Shattered Star Nails and 3 shads of the new Satin Finish Glamore Lipstick. The Shattered Star Nails shades are Trilliant – a pale silvery shade with hints of a lilac pink; Marquise – a bright hit of burnt orange and lastly Fire Rose; my favourite (obviously) which is the most pink of the bunch and contains silver sparkle.
The new shades of the Satin Finish Glamore Lipsticks are Soaked – a strong coral that leans very orange; Glissade – a cherry pink with red tones and Luster; a stunning girly pink that has quite a blue tone meaning I should be able to wear it fairly well…I’ll let you know! I would guess that Glissade will be the most popular as it’s an extremely wearable shade that would suit most skin tones, plus it’s very pretty. I’m not much of an orange fan so Soaked is a bit lost on me, but anyone who enjoys the Runway Coral/Morange shades will love this.
I really love Glamore! It’s everything I love about make-up; there’s girliness without silliness, grown-up and wearable pinks as well as sparkle, but there’s nothing sickly or OTT. If anyone was going to get this seasons pink-heavy trends accessible and easy then it would inevitably be Illamasqua.
The small but perfectly formed Illamsaqua Glamore collection on the 27th February 2014. The Shattered Star Nails will be £15 each and the Stain Finish Glamore Lipsticks will be £16.50 each. I’ll be doing individual posts on both the lipsticks and the polishes so keep an eye out for those soon.
