Models Own HyperGels in Cornflower Gleam, Lilac Sheen and Pink Veneer

Add Cerise Shine to the group and here we have my absolute favourite shades from the new Models Own HyperGels, as initially posted about here.  The three shades I was sent are Cornflower Gleam, Lilac Sheen and Pink Veneer.  I’m sure all the shades are pretty self-explanatory, but for the sake of clarity, Cornflower Gleam is the mid-tone sky blue, Lilac Sheen is the pale purple and Pink Veneer is the true baby pink.

I had these applied during a manicure so I can’t fully comment on their application, but I did have a quick go with the lilac and it was smooth and easy to apply as I’ve come to expect from Models Own polishes which are seriously good value.

My favourite of the three I have is probably Cornflower Gleam as it’s such a gorgeous shade of blue; it’s bright and happy without being too neon or heavy.  Lilac Sheen is a surprisingly colourful hit of lilac – a shade that can often look quite watery – and Pink Veneer is an almost perfect dupe for OPI Pink Friday.

All images in this post are top-coat free; I thought this was important since the main selling point of these polishes is their “gel-like glossiness” which they’ve definitely delivered on.  All images are also two coats; the blue and lilac went opaque after two coats but I think Pink Veneer could’ve benefited from another coat.  Models Own HyperGels are currently available in the Models Own Facebook promotion with 50% off (using code “HALFPRICE“), but one shade has already sold out and I can see others following suit, so if you’re keen to get your hands on these at the bargain price of £2.50 each (!!) then you’ll need to act extremely quickly.  If not then they arrive everywhere over the next month where they’ll be priced at £5 a pop.  Head to Models Own here – link – for more information.
