The upgrades involved masterclasses with leading industry professionals, so you could enjoy a bit of learning with your sight-seeing during your half hour spin around the wheel. There were various classes available including a rather impressive yoga class, but obviously that isn’t the one I attended (ha!), instead I spent half an hour talking all things blog with the fabulous Journalist-Come-Blogger, Zoe Griffin.
Zoe and I were also joined by the fabulously fashionable Catrin from CatrinDarling, and all three of enjoyed a go around the London Eye on one of its first rotations of 2014.
I was surprised as it really wasn’t as scary as I expected it to be, as you barely feel it move and even though you’re extremely high up when you hit the top, you don’t end up overwhelmed with the sheer magnitude of the height as I anticipated might be the case, instead you just have time to take in the beautiful views in comfortable surroundings.
As you can see from my pictures it was a fairly miserable day – it was January after all – but I still managed to get a few shots that made me realise just how high up I was…thankfully it didn’t feel it at the time! On a sunny day this would be a glorious way to take in the sights, but even on a miserable day like the ones we’ve had recently, it’s still a great way to kick back and check out London from a whole new perspective. You look great and glad you had a good time. I was on it once years ago and loved it.
Thanks so much Mary! It’s a really fab way to see London, especially when it’s so cold xx
