Now we come to my final post on the gorgeous Glamore collection from Illamasqua. Check out my introductory post here and my post on the lipsticks here. This post focuses on the new shades of polish, of which there are three and I have two of them to show you: Trilliant and Marquise.
The Glamore collection is heavily influenced by the shade pink (with Illamasqua’s own take on this typically sickly colour) and therefore the varnishes are all variants of pink. When I first saw the collection I could see how Trilliant and Fire Rose were pink themed, but I couldn’t see how Marquise was as it was just pure orange to me.
However, having got it home and swatched it I can really see the pink shade coming through and hopefully you can too! I would even go as far as to say that it’s my favourite out of the two, even though I’m not really a fan of anything too orange but Marquise is the right side of pink for me.
Trilliant is a pale silvery pink shade that I think is the most ‘Illamasqua’ of the bunch. It’s almost ethereal and delicate; I think the darker the skin tone the more this shade would pop, but it might get a bit lost on some paler skins. Having said that, there’s a hint of lilac in there that might make it work on people who’s skin tone leans cooler.
These polishes pack some serious punch when it comes to coverage and you can easily get away with one coat, although two coats really brings the whole effect to life and makes the shades pop. They apparently work really well as in gradient/ombre nail art too, so I would love to see some attempts at that.
Illamasqua Glamore Shattered Star Nail Varnishes are available now both online here – link – and in store for £15.
