The May 2014 Glossybox is a collaboration with Superdrug to mark their 50th Birthday. Therefore, all products included are available at Superdrug (and some are Superdrug exclusives) plus each box guarantees at least 4 full-sized products. With brands such as Maybelline, Rimmel, Simple and Max Factor included this month, I’m quite excited to see what was included in other people’s boxes as I feel there’s been quite a variety. Some people love that, but it does of course allow more room for ‘box envy’ depending on what your contents were…
I think the Glossybox May 2014 box is going to be a general crowd-pleaser as there’s a good mix of products, so definitely a case of something for everyone. There’s a couple of great make-up pieces so I’m happy! As usual, here’s a look at the contents in order of my favourites:
Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara
I have blanket-banned myself from purchasing mascaras for the time being (honestly, my collection is just ridiculous) as it’s my absolute favourite product to binge on, so I’m thrilled to find a mascara that I don’t have in this month’s box! I’m very much looking forward to trying this – which is how I feel about all mascaras – and I tend to overlook Rimmel mascaras so hopefully this one will change that for me. It’s full-sized and worth £6.99.
Scholl Velvet Smooth Overnight Mask
I have this and I’ve reviewed the range here, and out of all the products in the line, this is the one I use most as it’s fab and making feet look well cared for even if they’re really, really not. I’m glad this is included in the box as it isn’t the most glamorous of products but it is a fantastically effective foot revitaliser that I heartily recommend. Again this is full-sized and worth £7.99.
B. Sheer Conditioning Lipstick
To me, this sounds like a highly pigmented tinted lip balm which is pretty much my idea lipstick, so I’m thrilled for this to be featured in the box. The shade I have is Petal which doesn’t look that great in the tube (a little too brown for my liking) but I’ll be reserving judgement until I’ve had a chance to try it. This is also full-sized and worth £6.99.
Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer
I’ve had a play with this already and unfortunately my extremely difficult skin didn’t agree with it, but as a primer it really does make your base last, just tread carefully if you’re prone to breakouts. I’m so impressed this is included in the box as it’s such a new release and it’s also full-sized and worth £10.99.
Schwarzkopf essence Ultime Crystal Shine Conditioner
I saw this range during my recent visit to Boots and I added it to my ‘to try’ list, so I’m happy to see it included in the box. However, the reason it isn’t higher on my list is because I’m extremely pedantic when it comes to trying a new hair range; I have to try the duo and I feel weird about trying a conditioner or shampoo without its matching counterpart…weird I know, but it’s my thing. This is the last full-sized product at £4.99.
Garnier Oil Beauty Lotion and GHOST Eclipse
Yes these are sachets/samples but they’re bonus items so you can’t complain really! I love the fragrance – I’ll be reviewing it soon – and I’ve heard good things about the lotion, so whilst sachets are nothing to get excited about, at least they’re good products!
To conclude, I like this box very much as it’s a solid collection of practical and very usable products. The special edition Superdrug x Glossybox May 2014 collaboration is still just a tenner a month plus P&P. Head to Glossybox here – link – for more info.

I love these types of boxes, those are some great products, but I have to say the truth the packet of oil beauty really sparked my intrest, i am a oil junkie haha.

It’s a great box this month; I’ll definitely try the oil sachet! xx
