If you were to order this online, you would almost certainly feel robbed of your £38 when this teeny, tiny pot of cream foundation arrived as man alive is it small.  However, once you start using it you would start to feel better as having used this since March, I’ve barely dented the surface and I use it almost every time I need make-up – in any previous posts when I’ve mentioned adding concealer, this is what I meant.

The Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer is an infamously thick and intensely pigmented foundation.  It’s available in 16 shades and my shade is is the lightest SX1.  It’s a dense cream that I can’t ever see anyone needing to use as an actual foundation without diluting it first, but it has proved extremely handy for all sorts of things since I first started using it.   Used neat it’s a heavy concealer that buffs beautifully into skin, but added to other foundations it gives them some serious covering power without compromising the finish of that foundation, making it ideal if you have a foundation you love that doesn’t offer as much coverage as you’d like.

I very rarely build-up coverage so intensely that you can’t see the spots/scars underneath as it almost always looks unnatural.  Instead, I go for trying to neutralise the redness and try to blend the blemishes into the background so they’re not as obvious and in-your-face.  The Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer is ideal for this, but man can it be built-up for intense and pretty much completely opaque coverage if that’s what your after.

If you’re someone who struggles with less than perfect skin then adding this to your kit is a wise move.  It’s very easy to work with and has several uses.  Yes it’s expensive at £38 for a mere 18g of product, but I can’t see anyone other than working make-up artists using this up in anything less than few years!
