The last couple of weeks have been extremely stressful which I will tell you about soon, so yesterdays visit to Olympia Beauty proved to be a very enjoyable and welcome distraction. If you’ve never been to the Olympia Beauty show, it’s basically a look at upcoming beauty launches and trends from some of the biggest beauty brands in the UK and it’s great for anyone who likes their beauty, from casual observers to hardcore obsessives! Not only do you get to see what’s coming up, you can also take advantage of trade show prices and get cheaper deals on brands such as OPI, Nubar, Dermalogica, Alessandro and Elemis. You can also have little tasters of new treatment launches and try out things for much less than their standard price, so it really is a great event for beauty lovers.
My day at Olympia Beauty started with a visit to the press area where there was a treatment zone. I had a chat with the ladies behind Spa Ritual who are a brand that have these absolutely amazing spa products as well as a huge line of nail varnishes. Pretty much everything you could ever need to do your own manicures, pedicures and massages in some amazing scents (I recommend their Jasmine scent which is just gorgeous!) can be found here – link. Straight after that I had a pedicure with Alessandro which involved the use of some of their feet softening products that were so effective! I didn’t have a chance to fully appreciate how good they were until I got home last night and took my shoes off to reveal amazing soft feet! They use a liquid soak that softens the skin before it’s buffed away and then finished with a gorgeous foot balm that seriously works to leave feet looking fab. They also have a great range of colours and predictably I went for pink on my toes. Check out the full Alessandro range here – link.
Next up I had a fascinating treatment called Eyebrow Extensions with the team behind Lash Perfect. I’m brow obsessed at the moment so I was very excited to try this treatment which involves adding tiny hairs to the sparser areas of the brow to leave them looking full and more defined. I will definitely be writing more about this treatment soon as it’s such an interesting and new idea, plus the Lash Perfect team have some other great treatments I’ll be sharing with you soon! Check out the Lash Perfect site to find out more about them here – link.
After I’d been thoroughly spoilt and had a cup of tea, I headed down to the hustle and bustle of the main area which would get even the most cynical beauty-lover excited! There’s such an atmosphere and everyone’s switched on and there to find out more, all with the same interest, so it’s a really enjoyable experience without any hard-sell. I had a good wander around and checked out the new launches from some of my favourite brands. Elemis had their newest facial launches on show as well as their Christmas gift sets that include some of their most recent launches. Nubar had their full colour collection on show along with some gorgeous swatches. Dermalogica had some fab kits on show that would make amazing Christmas presents. Alessandro had their entire range on show including all their hand, feet and nail products and their full colour collection which was astoundingly vast! All That Jazz also had a great little room full of lotions and potions alongside their nail collection. This year was truly a nail-lovers paradise as not only did you have great savings on some of the big brands, there was also a LOT of nail art stalls with pretty much everything you can think of that a nail artist may need.
Whilst there were lots of nail products and I’d say nail brands made up at least 50% of the show, there were also skincare, haircare and beauty gadget brands with live demos from people such as Environ, Caci and Blue Fusion had a line of teeth-whitening stands set up which, had I known about, I would’ve definitely taken advantage of! There’s sooooo much at Olympia Beauty that I haven’t covered, so if you like a bit of beauty then I really recommend visiting the show next year and taking advantage of the amazing beauty savings and insights.
